WKU Homecoming Parade

 The WKU Alumni Association is proud to host the 2023 Homecoming Parade on Friday, November 10, at 5:30 P.M. All campus groups, businesses and organizations are invited to join this WKU Homecoming tradition.

From outstanding student floats, to Homecoming Queen candidates, to the Hilltopper Football Team, the Homecoming Parade brings out the WKU Spirit in all Hilltopper fans!

Parade Route:

• Parade lineup begins along Avenue of Champions near Cherry Hall
• Lineup travels down College Street to Fountain Square Park
• Parade will end at the intersection of College Street and East Main Ave.
  • Floats will turn left on East Main Ave.
  • Floats will then turn left again on Adams Street to return to campus
• Participants will remain in the park for the following pep rally

CAMPUS AWARDS

• Campus Float Awards - 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place

• Homecoming Spirit Award              

• An organizational banner or other form of a sign must be visible from the side or front of each entry.

• Floats must be NO TALLER THAN 10 FEET with proper support.

• Floats must be NO WIDER THAN 12 FEET with proper support.

• Any float deemed dangerous by parade organizers may be disqualified.

• A working fire extinguisher must be present on each float.

• Each organization is responsible for procuring its own material, trailer and/or vehicle for the parade.

• All vehicles participating in the parade must have valid proof of insurance.

• All applicable Kentucky vehicular and trailer laws will be obeyed at all times.

• There is no unlawful behavior during the parade.Any major disruption will be cause for immediate disqualification.

• Student organizations must also follow guidelines submitted by the Office of Student Activities.

• All student organized floats must remain on display on Avenue of Champions following the Homecoming Parade until the start of the football game.
  
  
• Floats must be picked up by the organization by 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12.
