Letter From the Executive Director
Donald Smith

Greetings from the Hill!

Every day is a great day to be a Hilltopper! I know many of you are excited about March Madness, and we're so proud of the WKU Basketball Team for winning four games in four days to win the SunBelt Conference Championship. Our student athletes were resilient, and they represented the institution we care about so much with pride and character. I hope each and every alumnus will wave your red towel and Stand Up and Cheer as the Hilltoppers continue their run! It's also a great time to be a member of the WKU alumni family because your WKU Alumni Association was just named the best Overall Alumni Relations Program for District III for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. District III represents all the southeastern states, so as you can imagine, there is some pretty tough competition. We edged out UNC-Chapel Hill and University of Miami to receive the Grand Award.

It is based on a number of criteria from events, programs, services communications, alumni attendance, giving percentage, and volunteer support; but this is a tremendous testament to the WKU Spirit and the involvement of our alumni base in the life of the institution. I hope each of you will take great pride in this honor and thanks for all that you do to perpetuate and foster the Spirit!

It's only appropriate that the best Alumni Association in the southeast has a place for our alumni to call home, so we are extremely excited about the progress of the Augenstein Alumni Center. Click here to see the progress and make your gift today to show your vote of support for the WKU Alumni Association!

ROTC Training

When an ROTC student graduates from WKU, his or her next stop after shaking Dr. Ransdell's hand could very well be a war zone. In this week's View from the Hill, Amy Bingham shows us how hands-on training helps prepare them for battle.
