Unique jewelry line by Meghan Coomes Hagedorn (’07) featured in People magazine
Meghan Coomes Hagedorn, a 2007 alumna, was recently featured in People magazine for creating a unique jewelry line inspired by her grandparents’ World War II love letters.
Constantly on the road for her job as a television producer, Hagedorn was homesick for her family in Louisville, Ky. With a love for everyday jewelry, Hagedorn asked her grandmother to give her one of their love letters so she could turn it into a bracelet that she could wear when she traveled, so she would always have her family with her.
She then used other pieces of the letter to create a ring for her grandmother, and she made other pieces from replicas of the thousands of letters her grandmother, Agnes, and her grandfather, Thomas, sent to one another while they were separated by war. Her jewelry line, Forever Yours, Agnes, has only continued to grow.
“I love writing. I love art. I love jewelry. I love family,” Hagedorn said. “And, like most girls, I love love.”
