Alumni Association Lifetime Member and WKU President Gary Ransdell (’73, ’74) honored by Chamber; Lifetime Member Robbin Taylor (’90, ’97), WKU’s Vice President of Public Affairs, takes '17 gavel
WKU President Gary A. Ransdell (’73, ’74) was recently honored with the Herb Smith Lifetime Achievement Award at the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner. At the same meeting, Robbin Taylor (’90, ’97), WKU’s Vice President for Public Affairs, took the gavel as the 2017 Chair of the organization’s Board of Directors.
“Julie and I are proud to be a member of this community,” Dr. Ransdell said. “The community and university are intrinsically linked.”
Taylor said the 2017 Chamber theme will be “Success, Talent and Innovation,” and that efforts in the workforce arena and assistance for Chamber partners will help them achieve business success.
“We are going to focus growing our own world-class talent pool,” she said, a charge that is key to a bright future in south central Kentucky. “Together, we can do it.”
