The WKU Alumni Association is dependent on the membership of its alumni to be able to provide the programs and events that you enjoy.
Why Membership Matters
Though all those who graduate from WKU are alumni, not all are members of the WKU Alumni Association.
“The WKU Alumni Association encourages alumni to develop strong ties with each other and the University through a mix of programs and activities,” said, Rick DuBose, Alumni Association Executive Director. “Our work also helps further the University’s mission and vision. The continued vitality of the Alumni Association depends on the commitment of time, energy and resources of our alumni base.”
Young alum Ashley (Parker) Mitchell (’09,’14), recently became a Lifetime Member of the WKU Alumni Association. “I think it is important for Alumni to be involved in the WKU Alumni Association in order to give back to the University and stay connected with others who share the same interests and passions as you do,” she said. “WKU gave me my degree, which gave me a job, so I feel compelled to give back so other students and future Alumni can have the same amazing experiences I had at WKU.”
Membership support allows the Alumni Association to continue to provide important programs, like the Alumni Chapter Network, Homecoming activities, reunions, career connections, student programming, tailgating and regional events, and recognition opportunities such as the Summit Awards and the Hall of Distinguished Alumni. In addition, the Alumni Association is exploring new and exciting ways to support career and professional development for members.
In appreciation, members of the WKU Alumni Association receive membership privileges that include:
- Discounts at the WKU Store, on Continuing Education Programs and on admission to select Alumni Association chapter events
- Access to affinity partnership discounts on services that include life, health, auto, and homeowners insurance
- Full print and digital access to all issues of the award-winning WKU SPIRIT magazine
“More importantly, your support of the WKU Alumni Association allows us to achieve our most important objectives of engaging our alumni, building added-value for your WKU degree and providing important career and networking services to our constituents,” DuBose said. “Though your time as a student lasts a very short time, you are a Hilltopper forever. Those exciting years on the Hill do not mark the end of your relationship with WKU, but are instead the beginning of a lifetime relationship.”
A variety of membership options are available, including annual memberships, joint memberships and lifetime memberships. For more information, visit alumni.wku.edu.
