The Western Kentucky University Parents' Association was established in September of 2000. The Parents' Association provides the perfect way for parents to become more involved with the activities at Western. Western Kentucky University is committed to maximizing communication between families and the community at Western. Working together with the offices of Admissions and Academic Services, Alumni Relations & Annual Giving, Housing and Residence Life, Student Activities and Career Services the Parents' Association provides valuable information needed to help improve the interest, welfare, and excellence of the University.
The Association plays an integral part of Parent and Family Weekend each fall as well as in various geographic areas concentrating on student recruitment. The Association is governed by the Parents’ Advisory Council which meets three times per year to discuss funding, student initiatives and be in contact with university administration. The Parent Endowment is being initiated as a part of sustaining a scholarship for the WKU Family of the Year student recipient.
