If WKU is to become a “Leading American University with International Reach”, then it is going to take the efforts of each of us to spread
the word about our great Alma Mata. As President of the WKU Society of African American Alumni, I look forward to leading our efforts to assist the University with achieving this bold goal.

We are committed to establishing the S.A.A.A as one of the strongest groups of its kind in the country. In order to make this happen, we need your participation! Whether it is financially, physically or just plain spreading the word about what’s going on at WKU, your participation is key to helping us meet our goals.
As in the past, the Society will contribute financially to many events. Our goal is to allow our Alumni to reconnect with the WKU Family and stay connected to WKU alumni across the country.
Some objectives of the Society:
• Provide scholarship support and leadership training to one freshman, sophomore, junior and senior at WKU

• Provide mentoring for current African American students at WKU
• Conduct the Outstanding Black Graduate Program at December and May commencement exercises, in cooperation with the Office of Diversity Programs
• Conduct events during Homecoming
Your continued support is needed and respectfully requested. As a proud member of the WKU family, I am certain that you want to see the continued growth and success of the Society. More importantly, we all want to witness the constant personal and professional growth of the students we support.

Sincerely,
 Bobby Thomas Jr. President, SAAA
