The Young Alumni Council will provide an opportunity for young alumni to maintain ties to WKU, and provide important feedback to the Alumni Association on programming for their interests. The focus will be to educate young alumni, as well as the public at large, about the programs, services, and mission of the Alumni Association, as well as to advance and support the general education welfare of WKU.
The Young Alumni Council will consist of twenty members, all of whom graduated within the last 10 years. Anyone who has completed one academic year of work in good standing at Western Kentucky University is considered an alumnus, and thus is eligible to serve on the council. Three officers exist for the council – President, President – Elect, and Immediate Past President.
The Young Alumni Council meets two times per year. The meetings take place in the fall and winter, in conjunction with Homecoming and Coming Home events. The board perpetuates itself by selecting six new members at the Coming Home meeting.
