Third Annual Red, White & Brew on tap for April 21
The WKU Young Alumni Council will be hosting the 3rd annual Red, White & Brew on Saturday, April 21 during WKU Football’s Annual Red and White Game.
Red, White & Brew is a benefit to raise money for the Young Alumni Council Scholarship Fund, which hit endowment level in the beginning of 2017. The scholarship, open to rising juniors and seniors, will be awarded for the first time this year. The selected recipient will serve as the student liaison to the Young Alumni Council and help the group stay engaged with the campus and student population.
Tickets for the event include samples from various beer and wine vendors, a complimentary meal, free on-campus parking and admission to a VIP viewing area for the scrimmage.
New this year is the expansion from craft beers to include local Kentucky wines, as well as a partnership with WKU Athletics to add the premium viewing area for the game. Wine vendors will include Purple Toad from Paducah, StoneBrook Winery from Northern Kentucky and Old 502 Winery from Louisville.
Allie Sharp, the WKU Alumni Association Coordinator of Student and Young Alumni Engagement, said she hopes the adjustments attract alumni and Bowling Green community members alike. “Our council is really excited about all the changes that were made this year and, combined with our hard work, we hope to raise a great deal of money for our scholarship fund that will provide support for current students on the Hill," she said. "By giving back to these students who will soon be young alumni, we want them to know they will always be a Hilltopper.”
Tickets are on sale now and are $25 for Alumni Association members and $30 for non-members. On Saturday, April 14, both prices go up to $35. Get your tickets today at alumni.wku.edu/rwb18.
