Hilltoppers at Work Career Consultants are WKU Alumni Association ambassadors who are passionate about WKU and are eager to share career advice and networking connections with current students and fellow alumni.

Program Description

For students and young alumni considering a career choice, it can be difficult to get good information about that industry, and even harder to meet like-minded people. That’s where Career Consultants comes into play.

The Career Consultants program is designed to connect current WKU students and recent graduates with experienced ambassadors in specific career fields. Through the WKU Alumni Association’s Career Consultants program, we will connect aspiring young professionals with seasoned WKU alumni who are working in a similar field or priority geographic areas to share tips and information on the selected industry.

For WKU Alumni:

Interact with grads in your industry or location with similar interests. Leverage your professional network and connect with current students and fellow Hilltoppers.

For WKU Students:

Meet WKU alums who’ve been in your shoes and who can provide timely advice and maybe even open doors for you. Start building your network before you ever leave The Hill.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often will I be contacted?

It depends. The rate at which Career Consultants are contacted is often determined by how “desirable” positions are at your organization or in your field, how advanced you are in your career, what state or country you live in, etc. On average, Career Consultants can expect to be contacted a couple times a year.

Can I temporarily suspend or remove my role as a Career Consultant?

Yes! It’s quite easy. Just contact the WKU Alumni Association at 270-745-2586 or email alumni@wku.edu to let us know you would like to be removed from the list.
