Leadership Giving Spotlight: Michelle Jones (’97, ’98, ’20)

Michelle Jones Head ShotMichelle Jones (’97, ’98, ’20) of Bowling Green, Ky., spends her days working with WKU students as a Pedagogical Associate Professor of Mathematics.

A Leadership donor at the President’s Circle level and a member of the WKU Sisterhood, she gives back financially to her alma mater, and she also supports the WKU Alumni Association and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council as a volunteer.

During her own time as a WKU student, Jones benefited from the counsel and support of WKU faculty and staff in the Department of Mathematics.

“Dr. Joseph Stokes shared information with me about the Minority Student Assistance Program and encouraged me to consider graduate school,” Jones said. “Also, Linda Pulsinelli taught me so much about the nuances of being an educator. I credit both of them with my being here at WKU today.”

Jones said her own WKU Experience equipped her with the skills to thrive in academia.

“As a graduate teaching assistant, I learned the nuances of teaching at the collegiate level, which is my current profession,” she said. “I also honed my problem-solving skills, improved my critical thinking skills, learned the value of teamwork and developed my leadership skills.”

Jones encourages her fellow faculty and staff to consider a gift to WKU.

“Whether you give of your time or your finances, giving back to WKU helps enrich the lives of others,” Jones said. “Giving back supports the next generations of students and helps the University to grow, strive and improve.”

WKU Philanthropy Recognition Program

By making a gift to WKU, donors share in the proud tradition that allows the University to achieve greater distinction and serve more people each year. We believe the greatest thanks we can show is through the responsible use of each gift and sharing how private support has made a difference at WKU. Therefore, we are happy to honor donors for their philanthropy through one, all or a combination of four recognition areas.

By publicly recognizing our donors, we believe others will be motivated to join their peers in giving back to the institution that has given them so much. If a donor wishes to remain anonymous, we will honor that request to the extent allowed by law.

Leadership – Gifts of $1,000 or more each year – President's Circle
Donors whose annual investments total $1,000 or more strengthen the University and enrich the WKU Experience for our students. Annual giving is instrumental in fueling our growing campus community and programs. We rely on our loyal donors’ commitment to preserve and enhance WKU’s tradition of excellence through their ongoing annual gifts.
