Friends Lists

What is a friends list?
- A friends list is just that; a list of friends that you have found in Big Red Space directory and invited to join your list. Each friend has to accept your invitation before he/she is on your list. 

How has my friends list changed?
- The new features of a friends list include photographs of each of your friends next to his/her name, the ability to send one email to all those on your friends, and the ability to see the friends list of other alums!

Tabs 

What is a tab?
- A tab is name for the categories within your Big Red Space profile. Click on the "My Profile" link at the top of the page to open it.
- Create your own tabs to add to your profile on Big Red Space. Organize your life by tabs and keep your fellow alumni up to date on everything!

Widgets 

What is a widget?

- A widget is a word for the type of link used to pull content from other pages.

What kind of widgets can we use on Big Red Space?

- You can now pull your social networking site links into your Big Red Space profile page. This allows Big Red Space to be the hub for links to all of your social networking pages (examples: Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn).

Add Video

Want to pull video from other sites like YouTube?
- Embed, or insert, videos from YouTube into your profile pages. It is just one of the many “widgets” you can add to your customized profile!

- Customize your profile by using your own HTML web writing skills.


RSS Feeds

First off, what is RSS?

- RSS (Real Simple Syndication) is a link to a site that automatically pulls the most recent content. This can be from a news site (examples: CNN, Fox News, New York Times, ESPN), or from a non-news site that offers RSS feeds (examples: iVillage, Entertainment Weekly, E! Online).
- Add feeds for the weather where you live (Weather Channel/Weather Bug), choose from quotes and art of the day (various Google links), art of the day, horoscopes, the list goes on and on!

Can I put an RSS feed from any site onto Big Red Space?

- If the site is listed as a links option on Big Red Space, you can pull it!

Photos

- Link your photo sharing site to your ROCK profile page. Available sites for linking include Photo Bucket and Flickr. Photo album embeds are also available for you to set up on your profile page.


Blogs

Have you always wanted to publish your views?

Start your own blog on the ROCK! 
- Now you can publish on the ROCK to the Saint Joseph’s community or to the whole world, it is your choice!
- Post, automatically notify your friends list of your blog, or subscribe to a blog news feed.
- You can also open your blog for bookmarking to help you build traffic from your Facebook page and sites like del.icio.us and stumbleupon.
